The Hiouchi Visitor Center is the northern gateway to Redwood National and State Parks and can be found right off highway 199. Hiouchi is a great spot for a summer picnic. It offers exhibits on coast redwoods, wildlife, and preservation history.
There is also a twelve minute film on the redwoods; "Trees of the Coast Redwood Forest" and a self-guided walk with wayside exhibits located just outside. Come in and browse our wide selection of books on cultural and natural history.
All the proceeds from our sales go into the support of the interpretive and educational programs offered throughout North Coast parks.
