This is a rugged 6.3 mile long trail and is probably the most strenuous in the park. Starting from the south trailhead, the trail is steeply uphill until you get to the Cal Barrel Road. Then the trail is more moderate in the ups and downs. You can walk between Cal Barrel Rd and the South Fork trail section through a wonderful burnt out tree. Many redwoods. The section between Brown Creek and South Fork is 55 degrees uphill/downhill at some points. The section between the CREA and Brown Creek trails is steep and only gets more challenging. Starting at the CREA trail, the path steadily descends until reaching the north trailhead at the Drury Parkway. Total roundtrip distance is 12.6 miles.
